London: Senior Politician Kapil Sibal, is reported to have accused the CEO of a French company of keep pertinent facts regarding the Rafale deal under wraps. Mr. Sibal, a former politician, it is said, has pointed fingers at a French Aviation Company that was, reportedly involved in a controversial deal on fighter jets.

Mr. Sibal named the company to be Dassault Aviation and its CEO is Eric Trappier. He, reportedly, went on to say that Mr. Trappier had in recent interviews attempted to "muddy the waters." The context for the whole debacle was the sale of 36 Rafale planes to India by the French Company back in 2016.

There are said to be many who speculate that the current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had put pressure on the company to tie up with Indian company, Reliance billionaire - Anil Ambani. The bone of contention is also that Anil Ambani's Reliance Company had no experience in aviation at all, up until that point. It is believed that the French company had no choice but to join the Reliance company due to the pressure it was facing from the Indian Government. Reportedly, as per the laws that govern Indian defence procurement, foreign companies that win contracts must reinvest half the total value of the deal into joint ventures or purchases with Indian firms. In this case that amounts to a whopping eight billion euros.
