Colombo, July 22 (BAN/ AD): Minister of Postal Services & Muslim Religious Affairs M H A Haleem has said that discussion will be held with the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding the postal strike.
The meeting is scheduled at Temple Trees at 6 pm. Minister Haleem said that they would discuss about the postal workers' salary issues. The Minister said that their problems were also discussed at the last Cabinet meeting.
The postal workers are on strike calling sick and are demanding government to solve several demands including the resolving of salary issues. Chinthaka Bandara Convener of the Joint Postal Trade Unions told one-day sick note campaign will be launched due to non-implementation of the agreements reached regarding the recruitment procedure of postal employees.
