Peshawar, July 11 (BAN/ AD): On Thursday a bus overturned near near the Bahtar Interchange on the Peshawar-Islamabad motorway killing 11 people and injuring 46. As per police sources mishap occurred on early hours while it was raining. Driver has been arrested and case has been registered against him.
SP Pothohar Syed Ali has said the driver of the bus is responsible for the accident.Following the incident, he also issued orders to install speed cameras after every 500 metres on the M1 motorway.
The driver is said to have consumed hashish and also passengers have said that driver was using mobile while driving. According to the officer, the bus went out of the driver's control when he was overtaking a trailer. THQ Taxila Medical Superintendent Dr Hooria said 10 bodies and eight injured persons were brought to the hospital. Rest of the casualties were taken to various hospitals in Hassanabdal, Wah Cant and Rawalpindi.
