London 5 July 2019 - BMW has just released the all-new X6 which is like a fastback version of the X5 SUV thanks to its sloping rear roof. It's 26mm longer and 15mm wider than before (now at 2004mm wide) though is actually fractionally lower by 6mm.
As such it gets a better centre of gravity for improved handling balance and an increase wheelbase for better interior space. More spectacularly it gets an optional illuminated BMW kidney grille as part of the daytime running lights.
BMW X6 will come in three variants from launch: Sport, M Sport and M Performance. Standard equipment includes adaptive two-axle air suspension, leather-trimmed steering wheel and aluminium trim.
The M Sport features unique front and rear spoilers, wheel arch trim in body colour, an M Sport exhaust and M Sport brakes with blue-painted callipers. Inside there is an M Sport steering wheel and M-specific pedals.
M Performance adds M Bicolour Cerium grey exterior trims, M Sport differential, Adaptive M suspension, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
The engine line-up is familiar with two diesels: the 265bhp xDrive 30d priced from £59,340 and the M50d with 400bhp and priced from £74,335. Meanwhile petrol options are the xDrive 40i with 340bhp from £60,320 and the current range topping M50i with 530bhp for £76,870.
It's available to order now with first deliveries expected in November.
