Yangon/Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh: Scores of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and Bangladesh have taken to boats trying to reach Malaysia.
This has raised fears of a fresh wave of such dangerous voyages.
On Wednesday a boat started from southern coast of Bangladesh the coast guard said, while several boats started from Rakhine state in western Myanmar, according to Rohingya leaders.
33 Rohingya’s were detained and a fishing boat bound for Malaysia in the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, said Foyezul Islam Mondol, the head of the coast guard in southeastern Teknaf upazila.
Six Bangladeshis were also arrested, he said.
