Colombo, June 12 (BAN/ AD): Shangri-La Hotel will be reopening on Wednesday. It was hit by terror attack on Easter Sunday. The five star property will be reopening after seven weeks. The Shangri-La Group in a statement said it is grateful to the local authorities and the global community for their outpouring of support and messages of commendations received these past seven weeks.
The official statement read "The group remains deeply appreciative of the selfless service and courageous spirit demonstrated by the colleagues of Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo and the Sri Lankan community in the face of such adversity." It added heartfelt sympathies and support for those killed and affected in terror attack. "They will always be remembered."
Statement further added "From Wednesday 12 June 6pm onwards, popular dining establishments including Sapphyr Lounge, Capital Bar & Grill and Kaema Sutra will reopen for service. Guests will be able to enjoy room stays and Chi, the Spa from Saturday 15 June onwards."
Shangri-La Group said it will be contributing to the Dialog Foundation to help provide medical assistance, counselling, scholarships and vocational training for families who lost their loved ones and also who are affected.
