Dhaka, Jun 12 (BAN/CD): Goswa Nibaroni park, scheduled to be completed within 14 months, began its construction in January last year.
Currently under construction at Osmani Udyan in Dhaka’s Gulistan, Dhaka residents may have to wait for another 6 months for its first ever “anger management park”.
The construction of the park was announced in January 2018 by the Dhaka South City Corporation to help the 17 million inhabitants of the city.
The park is under a project called Water Green Dhaka and it will be constructed at the cost of Tk 58 crore.
Officials said that the park was going to be completed within 12-14 months but now it will take another 6 months.
Called Goswa Nibaroni Park by city corporation authorities, the park will feature a lake, music, a giant television screen and a snacks corner, said the project manager of the park, engineer Asaduzzaman Nur.
The construction of the park has been delayed because of new features being added to help deal the visitors deal with rising stress, he added.
The open for all park will have a 24-hour surveillance camera with a TV screen featuring all sides of the park, the engineer told Dhaka Tribune.
A UK based firm ZIpjet launched a study in September 2017 which states that Dhaka is the seventh most stressed city in the world and one of Asia's top most stressed out cities.
The study ranked 150 cities using factors such as levels of traffic congestion, quality of public transport, presence of greenery, hours of sunlight and the financial status of the citizens.
