Leicester, June 8 (BAN): On 1st June 2019, ‘Desi Events’of Leicester danced away the evening at the Indian Summer dinner and dance; with a vibrant three-course meal, singers and DJ, the mix was a perfect set up for the evening ahead. Desi Events run by family trio Komal Gill, Sejal Thanki and Vikash Bhatt. “We started off doing Desi bazar, mini indoor markets giving small businesses a chance to promote and expand their business, different vendors exhibiting there products and services which was a huge success from the firsts event. So we ended up doing at least 2 -3 events (Desi Bazzar) a year.” With big plans for 2019 Desi Bazar decides to go into the entertainment world but again with a twist, they wanted to collaborate the world of shopping with the world of entertainment and fuse the two together, creating everything that you would want all under one roof.

The ‘Summer Dinner and Dance’ was held next to the glorious Leicester City Football Stadium at the ‘Blue Bar & Grill’ which was the perfect setting for the evening.

Guest arrived from 7pm onwards and were greeted by Desi Pot’s staff. As soon as you got to the top the aroma was delicious and tables were neatly set up ready for the guest.

The tables were filling up and before I Knew it family and friends were laughing and sharing stories as the singers, Manisha Makwana and Maksud Faquirbai, started belting out the hits. As the hits turned into classics the heads were bopping in the audience and the food was flowing, clearly people were having fun. The food was presented hot and fresh, with waiters regularly bringing in fresh re-fills topping up the selection of tasty spring rolls, curries, salads and nan-breads on the buffet table. Even though the non-veg was very popular the veg food, which I indulged in was delicious!

Food for the evening was provided by ‘Desi Pots’, https://www.facebook.com/Desipot1/. ‘Desi Pot Catering’ is a family run business which is run by Komal and members of the family with a few staff who help cater the brilliant vegetarian food, they cater delicious and authentic vegetarian cuisine like Punjabi, Gujarati, South Indian, Indo Chinese, Kathiyawadi as well as Indian street food. They are proud their food is of the highest standard as they say they don’t compromise with the quality of their food.

My Mouth was watering, the fresh crispy cocktail; samosa’s that tasted even better with Desi Pots fresh mint chutney, followed by the chili mogo, classic bombay aloo, cholay, dal makhani. Acompanied with fresh salad, poppadum’s and nan-bread finally followed by gulabjamun’s with ice cream, all absolutely fabulous. There was also Jeera Chicken and Methi Chicken Curry provided by Fusion Blend Catering.

With everyone fully fueled the guest soon hit the dance floor, the singers were impressing the crowds. Before you know all had hit the dance floor!

Everyone enjoyed themselves and we even had some of the guest say these kind words:

Jitesh, fan of the singers Manisha Ji, Maksud Ji, had a brilliant night with his friends and family. “I know the singers very well, they sing every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and weekends at Envy Lounge and Bharat Lounge. I always go to check them out and support them. I’ve had a very good time tonight and enjoyed myself. Brilliant venue, right outside the Leicester City Football club. I look forward to their next event".

We also spoke to Jennifer, Lucy and Melanie. These three lovely ladies were here with their families and it was Melanie’s husband who arranged for the family to attend Desi Pots event. ‘’We had a very good night tonight, absolutely fabulous. The food was lovely and we would so recommend this kind of ‘doo’ to our friends. Really enjoyed it!”

Finally we caught up with - Vikesh Bhatt one of the Trio’s. He wanted to express his thanks to his friends and family and to all the guest for attending. “It’s been a brilliant venue, top notch, everyone’s coming together, and it’s been great. Food was absolutely brilliant, guests have said it's one of the top nights they’ve been too and looking forward to the next event".
