Mumbai, April 23: Jet airways CEO has got communication from UK based business man Jason Unsworth for controlling stake in Jet Airways. Although much is not known about Jason Unsworth, he is willing to take over grounded airlines. Jason Unsworth had earlier written to Jet's lenders, but the banks haven't responded to him yet.
Jason Unsworth has said "I have got a reply from Dube. He has put me in touch with a senior Jet Airways official for updates,” His Company Atmosphere Intercontinental Airlines started in 2015, and has been trying to start services from London Stansted Airport. His intrest has brought hope to banks and employees. The airlines has suspended operations on april 17th putting Jet future in jeopardy.
Banks have shortlisted Etihad Airways, TPG Capital, Indigo Partners and NIIF. May 10th is last day to submit bids. Over 20,000 employees future is hung in confusion as the company has grounded operations.
Jason Unsworth told from Bangkok "I want to see the staff get their salaries and I want to resume the operations before it loses more of its assets, including the slots” He also added saying "Other airlines have poached talent from Jet, and it is important to start operations as soon as possible before the value erodes," said Unsworth. He added that the Indian unit of Atmosphere Airlines has got "hundreds of applications from Jet Airways employees looking for jobs."
