Paris, April 15: François-Henri Pinault French billionaire has announced that he and his family will be giving 100 million Euros rebuild damaged Notre Dame Cathedral, which was severely damaged after a catastrophic fire hit the historic structure, collapsing its spire and causing huge damage.
"My father [François Pinault] and I have decided to release as of now from the funds of Artemis a sum of 100 million Euros to participate in the effort that will be necessary for the complete reconstruction of Notre Dame," statement came from billionaire’s family.
Pinault is a prominenmt name in art collectors group and the chairman and CEO of the luxury group Kering, which owns fashion brands including Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, and Gucci.
Businessman Bernard Arnault's family which own LVMH luxury goods group has also announced to pledge €200m (£172.2m) to help rebuild the cathedral.
French president Emanuel Macron has announced of launching an campaign for rebuilding the structure. "We will rebuild this Cathedral together," said French president.
