Gold worth over Rs 3 million seized from 2 Sri Lankan women in Pune airport

Pune, Mar 15: Two Sri Lankan women have been arrested from Pune Airport in India by customs officials on Thursday.

Two Lankan women came from Singapore by a Jet Airways flight and walked through the Green channel without declaring anything to the Customs as per police officials.

Customs officials upon noticing suspicious movement, questioned the women and recovered 24-carat gold in the form of chain, bangles and biscuits, weighing 914.25 gm.

Pune cops are carrying on investigations and jewellery worth Indian Rs 3, 031,937 has been seized on the suspicion of being smuggling.
