Coventry: In music there are certain artists that define a generation, and stand the test of time. Tribute Nights bring about a celebration, that are dedicated to those artists and the songs we all know and have grown up with.
This year 2019, marks the 25th Death Anniversary of ‘PanchamDaa’ the legendary Bollywood music producer Rahul Dev Burman. His music lives on even today after producing cult hits for classics like ‘Sholay’, Burman was regarded among the greats for his creativity and passion to innovate the sound of music in Indian cinema. With such brilliant creations like 'AajaPiyaTohePyaar Du,' 'Rim JhimGireSawan' and ‘Kuchh Na Kaho’ from ‘1942 A Love Story’ his masterpieces will continue to influence the sound of Bollywood for years to come.
Rahul Dev Burman, better known as R.D. Burman, for decades from 60's through the early 90's, was known for introducing an upbeat, Western copied music that defined much of the music of the 1970's. Born June 27th 1939 in Calcutta only son to legendary Sachin Dev Burman, he was nicknamed by his loved ones as ‘‘Pancham.’’
In his celebration on Saturday 26th January 2019, Kreesh Events organised a truly dazzling tribute to R.D Burman with performances from the fantastic Hitesh Joshi and Veda Nellan. It was an energetic and colourful evening with crowds loving the dance floor. People danced the night away to some of Burmans classic songs sung by Hitesh Joshi and Veda Nellan’s live music performance, for the first time in Coventry was adored by the guests. Everyone enjoyed hits like ‘O mere Sona,’ ‘Bachna Ae Haseena,’ Yeh Jo Mohabbatehai,’ ‘Oh mere DilKe Chain,’ ‘JaaneJa’ to name a few.
The night was organised by family trio Shivan, Divyesh and Kreeta Tanna. The show was sold out and defiantly another successful event for Kreesh Event. Kreesh Events was born on 2nd September 2017 starting with a Charity Show raising funds for the MacMillan and Marie Curie. There efforts were rewarded with the shows proving to be very successful and totally sold out. They managed to raise a fantastic £1,600 which was split between the two Cancer charities.
Hitesh Joshi started Singing at the age of 12 and joined his first Bollywood band at 18 and has been performing since, Inspired by Udit Narayan, Hitesh has formed a friendship with him and continues to sing his numbers and also songs of his ultimate Inspiration Kishore Kumar. He is a versatile singer and DJ that has travelled all over the world and entered into Indian Idol as well.

Veda Nellan comes from a very artistic family background. She has been singing for the last 30 yrs equally 30 yrs.’ been performing live. Veda has also been doing many shows abroad all over Europe, Africa and India. Born and brought up in Mauritius. She has been lucky enough to have performed with our legends Manna Dey, Kumar Sanu, Harri Harran, Usha Uthup and many well-known international artists. She sings mainly Hindi Bollywood, Tamil and also Punjabi.
