London Feb 21 (SL/BAN) The Make a difference Today team (www.madtoday.org) are passionate about helping those less fortunate, this is their team’s biggest challenge to date!
With 36 volunteer cyclists, MADToday will undertake an epic fundraiser challenge, setting off from Askshardham Temple in the heart of Indian capital city of New Delhi the group will travel 471km over 4 days to finish at the holy Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.
All volunteer cyclists are aged 18 – 70 and have funded their own trip and expenses so that all 100% of the proceeds raised can go directly to supporting much needed causes.
For this next challenge, MADToday.org have chosen to support 2 charities:
· Nishkam SWAT (Charity No. 1139600)
· Shishukunj UK (Charity No. 284206)
They selected these two charities because we really connected with the great work they do to support disadvantaged communities here in the UK ad in India, with minimal over-head costs. All funds raised will be split equally between both charities.
Nishkam SWAT is the first UK Sikh charity to take Langar to the streets in the UK to feed homeless. The charity’s primary function is to unite and transform financially disadvantaged communities by focusing on projects which make a difference to peoples lives and improve their prospects. Shishukunj UK is a children’s charity that has been established in London for over 30 years. Shishukunj carries out various projects internationally through Shishukunj International Projects, whose aim is to relieve poverty, distress and sickness amongst children all over the world.
