London 14 February 2020 - For when James Bond wants to go topless, Aston Martin - his preferred marque of automobile, now offers the new Vantage Roadster, that joins the Coupe version introduced in 2018.
Like its coupe sibling the Roadster is powered by a 4.0-litre 510bhp twin-turbo V8 - borrowed from the Mercedes AMG GT - mated to an 8-speed ZF transmission. It is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 190mph.
Weight increases by only 60kg thanks a light Z-fold roof mechanism for the fabric hood which can open in under seven seconds - claimed to be fastest for any fully automatic convertible roof - at speeds of upto 30mph. And there's still enough space left in the boot to stow your golf clubs, because that's what all supercar owners keep in the back of their sports car obviously.
As you'd expect there's a host of options and customisation available and the Roadster is priced from £126,950 in the UK about £12,000 more than the base coupe.
