Preston Feb 04 (SL/BAN) Gujarat Hindu Society in the North of England Preston, once again staged a variety cultural show to celebrate India’s 71st Republic Day celebrations. The event showcased over 110 participants took part in presenting classical, contemporary & bollywood dances, Raas & Garba, traditional dances, folk dances and devotional singing by both adults and young children.
Everyone was welcomed to this community event, families with young children, couples and groups of friends – people came along and enjoy the inspirational culture showcasing the finiest dancers performcers and singers! The show was opened by a welcome prayer followed by lighting of the lamp by the president of the organisation, Dashrathbhai Nayee.
Over 600 people attended the show. India’s cultural heritage was demonstrated by all the performing groups through their thematic & patriotic performances. The show reminded everyone of their roots and was a boom and celebration of culture and heritage. The president praised all the particiapants & trainers for putting in so much effort in bringing this cultural programme together. After the cultural programme, the Indian flag was hoisted by the president of the society and a salute was given by all those present.
The evening concluded by playing the Indian National Anthem followed by British National Anthem.
