President asks Japanese Minister Yamamoto to invest in high tech assembly plants in Sri Lanka

Colombo, Jan 14 (BAN/ AD): President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has called on Japan to invest in Sri Lankan. Japan has also shown keen intrest in investing in several sectors. Japanese State Minister for Regional Revitalization Kozo Yamamoto said measures will be taken to further strengthen long-standing bilateral relations between Japan and Sri Lanka.

The Japanese State Minister said situation is stable under the current government and the economy is also progressing. This is suitable investment environment for Japanese investors.

President Rajapaksa told the growth rate of Sri Lanka which was around 7 % in 2014 had since declined. Minister Yamamoto promised to promote Sri Lanka with the Japanese investments.
