London, Dec 3 (Press Release): Northampton passengers will benefit from faster afternoon services to London when the new London Northwestern Railway timetable comes into force later this month.
The new timetable comes into operation on Sunday 15 December, bringing with it a number of changes aimed at improving the reliability and capacity of services on the West Coast Main Line.
Additional carriages will also join the London Northwestern Railway fleet in the new year. These carriages will all be used to increase the length of trains travelling between Northampton and London Euston, including services calling at Tring, Milton Keynes and Watford Junction.
Jonny Wiseman, head of customer experience for London Northwestern Railway, said:
"We know that passengers travelling between Northampton and London in recent months have been making journeys which are not as good as they should have been.
"I am pleased that the overdue carriages we have been waiting for have now started to arrive and these will be used to increase the length of some trains on this incredibly popular route.
"We are also making other changes to simplify our timetable, helping us to improve the reliability of our services and make a difference to our passengers. More improvements will follow next year."
