London Nov 24 (BAN/SL) - Keith Lobo from British Asia news joined the Lions Club International Zone E Lion Members to plant trees on 23rd November 2019 at Silver Jubilee Park, Townsend Lane, NW9 7NE. Joined by Councillor Muhammed Butt and staff from Veolia at Jubilee Park, over a 100 people mixture from Lions club members and people from the public came to take part in this community activity.
Lions club said “As Lions we believe tree planting is one of the most engaging, environmentally friendly activities that people can take part in to mitigate climate change”. The Lions club acquired 100 trees from the Mayor of London and as a community planted them at Jubilee Park.
Representing Wembley Lions club past president said “we did the last project last year we are interested in the environment not only for human beings but for the birds and animals, and we need clean air and this will help the environment” Muhammed Butt said “we are taking the initiative form the Mayor of London, to plant trees in relation to the climate register that has been declared, we need to be mindful of our environment and making sure we have bright future for everyone and planting these trees is a gesture going and sending a message out to everyone that we are in an environment where we can breathe clean air”.
