London 13 November 2019 - This is the latest offering from McLaren Automotive - the ultimate series roadster is named Elva and pays homage to the Bruce McLaren-designed cars of the 1960s, which were produced as 'customer' versions of Group 7 race cars.

Only 399 examples of the new Elva will be made to customer order with prices from £1,425,000 including UK VAT - although personalisation will see that go up further.

The two-seater open-cockpit speedster is powered by a 815bhp twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 giving it a 0-100kph (0-62mph) time of under 3 seconds - it can reach 0-200kph (0-124mph) in just 6.7 seconds.

It's the lightest road car ever from McLaren with carbon fibre chassis and body, carbon fibre seats, carbon ceramic brakes and no roof, windscreen or windows!

The McLaren Active Air Management System (AAMS) is a new system designed to redirect air flow around the occupants, suggesting helmets may not be necessary. Although a fixed windscreen will also be available if ordered.
