London, Nov 08 (BAN): We are extremely pleased to have celebrated Diwali with with our flagship SIS Diwali event at Harrow High School, Harrow on 2nd November. There were more than 230 attendees reflecting the continuing popularity of our flagship events.
The event started on an auspicious note with one our senior SIS member, Jayanti Mami 'lighting the lamp' followed by an invocation song by Rishika Ram and Ashika Ram. The exciting evening of Dance, Music and entertainment had just begun and was going to be filled with several outstanding performances.
The evening progressed with a traditional carnatic performance from Subadhra Raghuraman & Balu Raghura man's Vocal and Violin students.
Then followed an exquisite Odyssey dance by Ananaya Chandramouli and Akshata Ramaswamy from Krupa Dance Group.
The day was the concluding day of Kanda Shashti Vizha and fittingly enough, Jayanti Mami and her students, who comprised of all ages from age of 8 to 80 beautifully rendered Tirupugaz songs, virtually transporting the audience into a divine world.
The evening was also filled with a fashion show by Sangeeta Srini and team who also delivered a social message along with their entertaining performance on need go green and take initiatives to sustain Mother earth. There was then an entertaining live Band performance by Ananya Govindarajan and team.
The evening which was supported by several sponsors, also had a performance from one of the sponsors; Hidden Idol who support promotion of Arts and Music. Two of their young performers displayed their exquisite dancing talents leaving the audience mesmerised. This was followed by a singing performance by Venkat's troupe. The concluding event for the evening was bollywood dance by Shalini Mylu's team.
The evening was filled with several prizes for the audience to win, from the usual Raffle tickets and lucky draws from our long standing sponsor LifeLine Protect.
The whole evening was very well compered by Venkat and Nithya Sowmy, who kept the audience entertained in their own unique manner. All participating students also received medals and certificates acknowledging their hard work and performances.
The evening ended with a sumptous dinner and distribution of Diwali 'Bakshanam'. We would also like to acknoweldge the support of all SIS members volunteering to help us during the programme and at the Dinner hall and whole hearterdly thank them. This reaffirms the close knit family that SIS continues to be.
