Dhaka, Nov 08 (BAN/ AD): On Thursday night Meteorological Department has warned that Cyclone Bulbul may intensify further in Bay of Bengal.
MET department has predicted that cyclone “Bulbul” has gathered more strength to intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm. In a special bulletin MET has said the cyclone will move in a north-northwesterly direction. It was situated around 700 to 800 kilometres off the maritime ports at midnight.
The sea will remain very rough near the centre of the storm with maximum sustained wind speed of up to 110 kilometres per hour. The Met Office raised the warning level at the maritime ports to Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 from 2.
MET department has warned fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to take shelter immediately and wait for further notice. MET official has said warning will be raised to level to No. 4 on Friday morning if the cyclone gathers more strength. On Sunday it is likely to reach the North Bay.
Official from MET department said “The coastal areas are likely to experience light rains as water vapour level has risen due to the storm.”
Indian MET Office has said it is likely to turn into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm by Friday afternoon and winds will reach speed upto 145kmph. By Monday it is expected to weaken and turn into Cyclonic Storm
