London 10 September 2019 - Volkswagen is launching the new ID.3 at the Frankfurth motor show with prices starting from under 30,000 Euro (27k). It represents the first in a new line of completely electric vehicles VW is set to offer.
The compact five-seat hatchback-style car features a modular electric drive platform that will be the basis of several forthcoming electric cars. There's a spacious interior because of the lack of an engine and an entirely new digital display.
At launch, the ID.3 will be available with three battery size options. The basic variant has 45 kWh with a range of up to 330km (205miles) (as per WLTP). The next one up is 58 kW, with a range of up to 420km (260miles). The largest battery is 77 kWh, allowing an impressive 550km (340miles). It is possible to charge the ID.3 for a range of around 290km within 30 minutes, using a charging output of 100 kW.
The base model will include sat-nav, DAB radio, seat and steering wheel heating and 18-inch alloys. The ID.3 Plus gets a reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, matrix LED lights and 19-inch alloys.
The range topping ID.3 Max gets augmented reality heads-up display, Beats sound system, large glass roof and 20-inch alloys.
